Solar Earth Washers

Solar Earth Washers are made of strong stainless steel with special teeth. When you put these washers between the solar panel frame and the mounting hardware, the teeth bite through the coating. This allows for direct metal-to-metal contact, creating an unbroken path for electricity throughout the whole solar system.

To install them:

Make sure the parts you're connecting are clean and lined up.

Put the washer between the panel frame and the clamp, or between the rail and the bolt, depending on how your system is set up.

Put the bolt or screw through the washer and the parts.

Tighten the bolt or screw firmly. The teeth should dig in and make good contact.

Test with an electrical tester to make sure the connection is continuous.

Finish putting together the rest of the system.

For maintenance:

Check the grounding connections regularly. Look for loose bolts, rust, or any damage. After bad weather or changes to the system, test the connection again. Replace any washers that are damaged. Keep the grounding spots clean.
